Knoxville Figure Skating Club
Founded in 2002, the Knoxville Figure Skating Club (KFSC) is a United States Figure Skating club whose home rink is Cool Sports in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The purpose of KFSC is to be a family-oriented club welcoming skaters, coaches, and interested individuals from all economic, ethnic, religious, and national backgrounds. The club, serving the Greater Knoxville Area, is a community committed to skaters of all ages and abilities.
Mission
It is the mission of KFSC to promote, foster and encourage full participation in the growth and development of figure skating; to provide the programs and encouragement that will foster each individual in achieving his or her own athletic potential in a safe and healthy environment; to help in character development of youth through participation in a competitive sport; to contribute value to the community by promoting an environment for health and wellness through physical activity; and to carry out the general policies and objectives of United States Figure Skating.
Who can join the club?
Skaters of all levels, from basic skills to advanced can join the club. Most skaters find the best time to join is right before you are ready to take your first USFS test, pre-preliminary moves in the field or adult pre-bronze.
Why join the club?
It’s a great way to make friends and bond with other local skaters! Joining the club also gives you:
- membership in United States Figure Skating, which comes with testing and competing privileges
- a discounted price (when compared to non-members) at KFSC hosted test sessions, and reciprocal in-club test pricing for Scott Hamilton FSC (Nashville, TN), Nashville FSC (Nashville, TN), Louisville FSC (Louisville, KY), Huntsville FSC (Huntsville, AL), and Birmingham FSC (Birmingham, AL)
- a subscription to SKATING Magazine (one copy per household)
- KFSC voting rights (depending on membership level) and the ability to apply for financial assistance as competitors move into higher levels (ie Sectionals, Nationals).
Join the Club
Membership is up for renewal annually on July 1. Members joining after Jan 1 receive a pro-rated price.
Members under the age of 18 are required to also have a parent or guardian as a member. One parent/guardian membership is included in the Full and the Basic memberships. The included parent/guardian will still need to register as an ‘Included Parent’ at a $0 fee and complete necessary paperwork.
