SKATING LESSONS
Ice skating holds essential elements for boys, girls and adults alike to acquire: self-esteem, confidence, physical development, mental development, a sense of dedication and determination, and lasting friendships.
Cool Sports Skating Academy (CSSA) now offers multiple options for the skating enthusiast. Group lessons are considered STEP 1 towards becoming a U.S. Figure Skater. CSSA hosts the Shooting Stars program which is available for beginner to intermediate skaters ages 3 and older and beginner adults. Classes are offered year-round on three different days of the week as a conveience to your busy schedules. Tuesday classes occur at 6pm; Friday classes occur at 6:30pm; and Sunday classes occur at 3:30pm. Shooting Stars includes one 30-minute class once a week, FREE skate rental & annual U.S. Figure Skating membership coverage. Class sessions run for 8 weeks and include a recital performance & party at the conclusion of the semester (week 9).
STEP 2 towards becoming a U.S. Figure Skater is the Bridge Program & Coffee Club. Bridge Program classes are now offered three different days of the week in conjunction with Shooting Stars (Tuesdays, Fridays & Sundays). The Bridge Program includes one 30-minute class once a week and one 45-minute freestyle session once a week as a practice session. Skaters enrolling in the Bridge Program MUST have passed Basic 6 or higher. Skaters will dabble in ice dancing, synchronized skating, power skating, jumps & spins and off-ice stretching.
Coffee Club is one of our newest additions and is open to adult skaters ages 18 & older with prior skating experience. This class meets once a week for 30-minutes on Sundays at 3pm. Coffee Club focuses on using skating as a healthy option of exercise. Skaters will perform basic forward & backward skating drills which will enhance cardio fitness & muscle strength. This class is for intermediate to advanced adult skaters.
Another option for skaters is STEP 3, private lessons. Cool Sports Skating Academy proudly boasts 12 professional skating instructors that can work with all levels of skaters. Those interested in private lessons should contact the instructor personally (see instructor page) to set up a lesson schedule or if you need assistance choosing the right coach for you, please contact our Director or Figure Skating, Nikki Copeland-Ronayne at (865) 218-4500 Ext 227 or email her at nikkic@coolsportstn.com.

BRIDGE PROGRAM
The U.S. Figure Skating Bridge Program was designed to keep skaters involved in group classes upon the completion of Basic Skills / Shooting Stars. Cool Sports believes that it is essential for skaters to realize the many different avenues of skating, such as synchronized skating, ice dancing, moves in the field, and so much more. Our version of the Bridge Program offers skaters the opportunity to gather a taste of multiple aspects of figure skating while still enjoying the group-class setting. Skaters must have successfully completed Basic 6 or higher in order to participate. For more information contact Nikki Copeland-Ronayne at nikkic@coolsportstn.com or (865) 218-4500 x 227.
