!!NEW SEMESTER OF SKATING CLASSES!!
BEGINNING MARCH 9TH!!
Deadline is March 2nd....
Cool Sports Skating Academy (CSSA) now offers multiple options for the skating enthusiast. Group lessons are considered STEP 1 towards becoming a recreational or competitive U.S. Figure Skater. CSSA hosts the Basic Skills program which is available for beginner to intermediate skaters ages 3 and older and beginner adults. Classes are offered year-round on three different days of the week as a convenience to your busy schedules. School Year Schedule: Tuesday classes occur at 6pm; Friday classes occur at 6:30pm; and Sunday classes occur at 3:30pm. Summer Schedule: Tuesday & Thursday classes occur at 6pm. (Classes meet twice a week for four weeks.) Basic Skills includes one 30-minute class once a week (with an exception during summer months), FREE skate rental & annual U.S. Figure Skating membership coverage + FREE admission to three public sessions during the semester. The Basic Skills semester runs for a total of 9 weeks, with 8 weeks solely focusing on class level requirements. The 9th week of the semester is FUN DAY and all class levels will get the opportunity to perform a group class recital skating program. Friends & family are cordially invited to attend FUN DAY!! (Registration for upcoimg semesters if offered at the conclusion of the 8th week of classes)
STEP 2 towards becoming a U.S. Figure Skater is the Beginner Bridge Program & Coffee Club. The Beginner Bridge Program is now offered three different days of the week in conjunction with Basic Skills (Tuesdays, Fridays & Sundays). The Beginner Bridge Program includes one 30-minute class once a week and FREE admission to three public sessions during the semester as practice time. Skaters enrolling in the Beginner Bridge Program must have completed ALL Basic Skills levels (Basic 1 - Basic 8). Skaters will choose between three different courses, each of which will offer 9 weeks of education in course required maneuvers. Class options are: Freeskate 1; Dance 1; Moves in the Field (MIF) 1. Skaters MUST fulfill all three levels of the Beginner Bridge Program before shifting completely into private instruction. (Private lessons are permitted along with the Beginner Bridge Program...separate fees will apply.)
Coffee Club is one of our newest additions and is open to adult skaters ages 18 & older. Coffee Club participants must have successfully completed Basic Skills Adult 1 & Adult 2. This class meets once a week for 45-minutes on Sundays from 2:15pm -3pm. Coffee Club focuses on using skating as a healthy option of exercise. Skaters will perform basic forward & backward skating drills, ice dancing and also dabble in a little synchronized skating. This class is for intermediate to advanced adult skaters.
STEP 3a, towards chasing your skating dreams is the Intermediate Bridge Program. Skaters must have successfully completed Beginner Bridge Freeskate 1, Dance 1, and MIF 1 in order to participate. Skaters in the Intermediate Bridge Program may choose between two skating disciplines (or register for both if they like); ice dancing & freeskate. Intermediate Bridge will meet as a group during a 45-minute Freestyle Session (FS) and take part in what would be considered a semi-private lesson with an assigned Team Coach. The Team Coach will be available for questions & assistance during the 45-minute FS session, and will help train skaters in the Intermediate Bridge Program on how to work individually during a 45-minute FS session.
STEP 3b is Private Instruction. Cool Sports Skating Academy proudly boasts 12 professional skating instructors that can work with all levels of skaters.
